04/04/20 - 'Rona Rambles

We've been here for hours,
We’ve been here for days.
For weeks, they say, more.
Can we even last, this way?

First were the fires,
Then were the droughts.
Then came the plague,
We had only dreamed about.

It shut us in rooms,
Locked us behind doors.
Kept us silent and crazy,
Can we stand this anymore?

I see others, online,
Message, call, and zoom-chat.
But nothing the same,
As personal contact.

Next time you get angry,
At others you meet.
Remember the silence,
When there was no peep.
